Summer Getting Close….

April 16th, 2010 by chiquita

As the weather starts to get warmer and warmer…it’s easy to see that summertime is right around the corner. Summer is always fun to enjoy because you get to stay outside and play in the pool and do all the fun things you don’t get to do in the colder months. I will be doing my internship this summer so I will have a pretty busy summer but it will all be worth it since it is the last step before I graduate in August! Very excited to finally be getting my Bachelor’s Degree. Besides internships, many students are still taking a variety of classes during the summer. Summer courses are shorter but more quick paced so you have to make sure you keep up if you want to succeed in the class. Here are some important class dates for those interested.

*May Session- May 17th-June 4th
*Full Summer Term- June 7th-August 13th
*Summer I Term- June 7th-July 9th
*Summer II Term- July 12-August 13th
*Summer III Term(Austin Peay Center @ Ft. Campbell)- June 1-July 26th

These are important dates to know if you’re planning to take any summer classes. I highly recommend them and if you have the opportunity to take some I say GO FOR IT! Visit http://www.apsu.edu/summer for more information on summer classes and financial aid. Hope to see you soon! =)

Crunch Time!!

March 19th, 2010 by chiquita

Hello Everyone!!

It’s crazy how fast this year has gone by already. Before you know it we’ll be in 2011! Recently APSU just had it’s Spring Break! I was blessed enough to be able to go to the beautiful Jamaica…It was pretty amazing. It was a much needed break from the stress that school can bring sometimes. But now that school has started up again it’s time to get back in the groove of things. This is my last semester so I’m planning to buckle down and finish out my last semester on a good note. I’m only taking 4 classes so it hasn’t been too hard but I still have to stay focused and try not to let senioritis get in the way of things. =)

Lately I’ve been thinking about pursuing a master’s degree in school counseling. Austin Peay has a great variety of master’s programs and school counseling really stuck out to me. I think it’s something I would really enjoy and be able to make a difference doing. If you’re considering a master’s program at Austin Peay I would highly recommend it. We have so many to choose from…I’ll name a few:
–>Biology
–>Coummunication Arts
–>Teaching
–>English
–>Health and Human Performance
–>Military History
–>Nursing

These are just a few of the many so if you’re interested you should check them out at:

That’s it for now so hope you tune in again soon! Good luck to all you students out there!! =)

Just a few weeks left…

Hello Everyone! It’s good to talk to you all again. Austin Peay just got off break a little bit ago but i feel like it’s taking me forever to get back in the groove of things. I just want to sleep..=(. My spring break was pretty good though. I got to spend some time with my friends who came down from San Diego and those pics are below! Those are my best friends and we try to do everything together.

I can’t believe that the semester is almost over…it seems like it just started a little bit ago and it’s alaready about to end…I will be taking some summer classes though so school won’t be quite over for me yet. After the summer I’ll just have one more semester of classes left then I’ll be able to start my internship. Before I know it I’ll be graduating and moving out into the real world…it’s kind of a scary thought. I look forward to it though. Change can be good sometimes.

As you all know March Madness is going on so I hope all the basketball fans out there are watching. I don’t really know who I think will win yet but so far it has been really exciting. The Lady Govs made it to the tournament this year! Congratulations! Unfortunately, they lost their game but they put up an amazing fight. Even if basketball is not really your thing, I encourage you to watch some of the games. These college students truly go all out and it’s a thrill to watch.

I hope all you students out there who are not yet convinced about Austin Peay come visit us! I think you willl really enjoy the campus and we’ve have been known to give some of the best tours in the south..=). Austin Peay has a great atmoshphere and it’s a good place to spend your college years so feel free to come check us out. Well, I hope to hear from you! Stay posted another blog should be up soon!

Spring Semester Going Good!

February 13th, 2009 by chiquita

Hello everyone! Hope all is well. I can’t believe how fast the semester is going by! In a few weeks spring break will be here…=). I recently changed my major to Health Care Management and I must say I’m really enjoying it. It has a lot of the same concepts as nursing so I feel like I understand most of the material. I am taking 3 online classes this semester so I’m really having to stay organized but I feel like I’m handling it well.

This semester has brought many new faces to the campus as well. It’s always good to see new people on campus and they all seem to be enjoying the campus. This weekend our Govs basketball teams will be playing Tennessee State University so I’m really excited about this game. Usually we have a really good turnout so it will be exciting to see a big crowd. Everyone has been asked to wear pink to the game in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I think this a great cause and I’m hoping we will be able to PINK OUT the game saturday.

As we all know, Valentine’s Day is saturday as well! So if you have a special person out there make sure you don’t forget to get them something special! Hopefully I’ll have a dozen roses waiting for me somewhere…=). Thank you all for reading and I hope you all have a great weekend. Stay tuned for another blog soon!

The New Year is quickly approaching…

December 18th, 2008 by chiquita

Hello everyone!! Wow…it is truly amazing how fast this year has gone by. Time really does go fast…I hope all of you have had a wonderful year. This past semester has been a really tough one for me. The nursing classes were very tough and the clinicals were more in depth than the previous semester. We had to know a lot more information about the medications we were giving and I gave more shots than I can even count! But I enjoyed it all. I really learned a lot and I feel much more knowledgeable than I did during the previous semester. It was truly a learning experience.

I don’t know about you all, but I am definitely looking forward to a New Year’s celebration!! I am ready to start a new year. I have never really done the new year’s resolutions so I doubt I will do them this year but I may just set some goals that I want to be successful in. I’m hoping this new year will have a lot of good things in store for me. Hey who knows maybe I will even win the lottery..=) But most importantly I hope everyone has a safe and joyous holiday season!!! See you in 2010!!!
