Chiquita’s Blog

Hey Everyone!!! I hope all of you out there had a great summer! I am really looking forward to another year of blogging with you all. I would first love to tell you all about my wonderful trip to San Diego, California!!

This was my first time away from the south and also my first time on a plane so it was pretty exciting. I was very nervous at first about getting on the plane but once we were in the air it was no problem at all. Unfortunately, due to some delays I had to stay in the Houston, Texas airport overnight =( …but I did eventually make it to California. At the airport I was greeted by my best friends and for the week we just enjoyed every bit of San Diego.

We went to the San Diego Zoo which is ENORMOUS! It literally took us all day to look at all the creatures they had. But it was all well worth it. The most exciting part for me was getting the opportunity to feed the giraffes! I had never even seen a giraffe so the possibility of getting to feed one was amazing. It was scary at first but I soon realized that they’re just gentle giants.

After the zoo, we also got to go to the beach! I fell in love with every part of the beach. It was just so calming and relaxing. The water was a little cold but I still went in and had fun. I’ve now realized that I MUST live somewhere near a beach!
The very last night I was there, my girls and I had a bonfire. It was so much fun and I could not have asked for a better trip!

Now that school has started I have been nothing but focused on my studies. I know this is going to be a tough semester of nursing but I feel more prepared than I did my first semester. I passed my IV practice today so I think I’m on the right track! Well it was nice blogging with you all and I will be posting another blog soon so stay tuned!!
